Judy Spark is a Glasgow born artist who has been resident on the Isle of Skye in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland since 2016. Judy's research is concerned with the ways that humans relate to the world and with the different sorts of value that can be ascribed to, especially natural, places and things. She has a particular interest in the perceived distance between human, technologically oriented things and practices and the things and environments that are seen as part of the 'natural' world. Judy works between drawing, object construction and the written word; the potential of drawing in the recording and exploration of experience has become a significant part of her enquiry.

Judy teaches on the BA Fine Art at Moray School of Art, University of the Highland and Islands. She held the post of lecturer in Contemporary Art Practice at Gray's School of Art, Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen between 2006 and 2016. She is a member of the Association for Contemplative Mind in Higher Education (ACMHE). Judy's research and practice is informed by her involvement with the practical maintenance, conservation and development of woodlands in Uig (Woodland Trust Scotland) and at Armadale Castle (Armadale Castle and Clan Donald Lands Trust) on Skye with her husband who is a professional gardener.
